The Anchorage Midnight Sons Men’s Chorus has been entertaining audiences since 1967 and is one of 62 chapters within the Evergreen District which includes Alaska, Alberta, British Columbia, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington.  The Evergreen District is part of the national Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS).  There are over 825 chapters in the United States and Canada, plus another 4,000 members throughout the world, making the BHS the world’s largest all-male singing organization.

Quartets are a key element of our Society.  There are over 1,500 registered quartets who enjoy singing for the public and for competition. We are proud to have a number of registered quartets in our chorus and just as many informal quartets who get together for the fun ringing barbershop chords.

Although billed as a barbershop chorus, we sing all styles of a cappella music from Do-Wop to Barbershop and everything in between.

Comprised of men from many different backgrounds, we all have one thing in common:   we enjoy performing, singing and ringing a cappella chords.

The Anchorage Midnight Sons encourage and welcome visitors to our Tuesday night rehearsals.  There is an abundance of good music and camaraderie for you to enjoy!

Every male guest is provided with a music book containing our current repertoire.  You may, of course, sit in the audience facing the chorus and follow along in your music book.  On the other hand, to really experience the thrill of being “in” the chorus, you are encouraged to join us on the risers at least part of the evening.  A member of our team will be assigned to help guide you throughout the evening and to answer any questions so that your experience is enjoyable.  Remember, you’re among friends!  We are anxious to have you discover the harmony, fellowship, and challenge to this wonderful hobby!
